The 7th Steering Committee meeting was held on the afternoon of November 28, 2019, in Jakarta, Indonesia.
This time, following the previous day’s Forum and the morning’s review of ongoing projects, the main topics of discussion were plans for the 2019 Call for Proposals, the ASEAN IVO Articles of Association, project period extension, and other administrative matters.
Regarding the next Call, for collaborative projects set to commence in the following fiscal year, it was suggested by the Secretariat and approved that the next Call will again support 5 projects, but the maximum project period will be reduced from 3 years to 2. This is to start new projects smoothly while considering NICT’s budget situation.
Also, to help with continued stable operations of ASEAN IVO, the Secretariat presented a draft for the ASEAN IVO Articles of Association. It was agreed that each Steering Committee member will examine and consider the draft Articles, and there will be further discussions towards preparing the final version.
Finally, it was decided that the next Steering Committee meeting will be held on March 12, 2019 in Bangkok, with the main focus to be selection of the 2019 ASEAN IVO projects.
Also, it was decided to hold the next Forum in Manila, Philippines in November 2019.
