Classification of Fixed-Term Employees

Fixed term positions available at NICT:

Short-Term Technical Researcher Less than 28 hours
Fixed Term Administrative Specialist Full time or more than 28hours

The positions provide administrative/technical support for ongoing research, etc.

 
 

Selection Process

  1. Reception of application documents (by post or online application)

  3. Face-to-face, telephone, or video interview (with those who passed the document screening)
  4. Job offer and proposal of working conditions
  5. Agreement on working conditions
  6. Employment

*Please note that NICT will not bear the travel expenses for interviews.

Salary

*A monthly salary is paid to employees who work more than 4 days a week (more than 28 hours), and a daily or hourly wage system is applied to the others.
*The amount of salary shall be determined considering the applicant's work experience, etc. Please be noted that the basic salary is compliant with the government employees’ wages, which may be updated from time to time with consent from NICT's labor union.
*Dependent Allowances, Commuting Allowances, and Housing Allowances shall be granted to employees who work more than 4 days a week and meet the payment requirements. (Commuting Allowances will be granted to Research Assistants regardless of the working days)

Appointed Term

From the hiring date to March 31, 2023.
Depending on positions, the expiration date of employment may arrive before March 31, 2023.
For details, please refer to each job announcement.
(The scheduled date of employment is April 1, 2022.)
*The first month of employment will be considered as a training period.

Holidays

Saturdays, Sundays, National Holidays, and year-end and New-Year holidays (December 29-January 3)

Work Schedule, etc.

  • A flextime labor system is applied to Fixed Term Researchers and Fixed Term Technical Researchers working 37.5 hours per week. (Applies to Fixed Term Administrative Specialists working 37.5 per week as well)

  • A staggered commuting system is applied to Fixed Term Administrative Specialist working 7.5 hours per day.
  • An annual paid leave will be permitted to Fixed Term employees in accordance with the regulations.

  • A research proposal for the subject (free form)
  • Reference letter(s) should be: original text, written within six months, written by people NOT involved in NICT, with recommender’s seal or signature, addressed to “President of National Institute of Information and Communications Technology”. The photocopy(ies) of reference letter(s) is (are) NOT accepted.
Technical Researcher
