The 4th EU-Japan Symposium on New Generation Networks and Future Internet [Date: Jan. 19th]

Event Information

In 2008, the EU and NICT jointly held the 1st EU-Japan Symposium on Future Internet (FI) and New Generation Networks (NWGN) in an effort to step up the collaborations in the NWGN and FI research activities between the EU and Japan. And the 2nd and the 3rd symposium were held in 2009 and 2010 respectively.

The 4th symposium will focus specially on several issues which are required to be solved with joint research efforts by the EU and Japan researchers. Extensive discussions on practical research methods for the above issues will be carried out in a form of workshop. Research subjects in some of fundamental research areas will discuss as well for future joint research activity.

The information of the 4th conference is as follows

Agenda (Tentative): After the plenary sessions, the conference will break into the 6 Tracks as follows:

NWGN/FI part :

  • Green & content centric networks
  • Extending the cloud paradigm to the Internet of Things - Connected objects and sensor clouds within the service perspective
  • Federation of testbeds: Control, tools and experiments

Fundamental research areas :

  • Optical communications
  • Wireless communications
  • Network Security
