The National Institute of Information and Communications Technology (NICT) and Laboratoire d'électronique des technologies de l'information of Commissariat à l’énergie atomique et aux énergies alternatives (LETI) concluded a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on April 14, 2014, mutually agreeing to promote a wide range of research cooperation in the ICT field. The MOU was signed by Dr. Sakauchi, NICT President and Dr. Malier, LETI CEO.

LETI is a research institute, headquartered in Grenoble, South East of France with the core of applied research of microelectronics and nanotechnology. LETI is known as a research institute which has actively conducted research and development focusing on the practical use through strong ties with industry.

In September 2013, the representative of Information and communication in Science and Technology, French embassy in Tokyo visited NICT and exchanged opinions which led to the MOU. We believe this MOU will strengthen the ties between NICT and LETI beyond the past individual research cooperation.

Based on this MOU, LETI and NICT will start the concrete cooperation in the fields of neuroscience and social ICT.
