Symposium overview:
  Organization-wide collaboration of NICT and UEC in research and education has started in 2002. In 2013 the two organizations have established a new collaboration research agreement in free-space optical quantum communications and quantum metrology, which includes construction of a new test bed in both campuses. This symposium is organized as the start-up meeting of the new collaboration to introduce the research plans to a wide audience, and it also aims to supply discussion opportunities of wide related fields.
  The symposium consists of three sessions;
1. Talks by NICT and UEC scientists, and by scientists from related research fields in English
2. Talks by Japanese young scientists in Japanese
3. Tutorial talks for students in Japanese
  Invited speakers present new result and discuss new trend of the research fields in quantum communication, free-space optical communication, optical sensing, quantum metrology, and optical quantum information processing.
