Kayrros and Japan’s National Institute of Information and Communications Technology (NICT) are joining forces to extract actionable intelligence on gas emissions. The initiative will promote cross-collaboration and the sharing of resources to pioneer new developments in global emissions monitoring.
The new partnership symbolizes a shared vision to bring transparency to global gas emissions through new technologies. In addition to establishing an open channel of shared data and technology, the initiative will facilitate the collaboration of staff and researchers and promotion of joint research.
Kayrros, the leading global geospatial analytics company founded in 2016, has developed proprietary technologies to monitor the source and scope of global gas emissions. Access to the NICT’s vast network of data and satellites imagery and the collaboration with its team of researchers will allow Kayrros to further develop its products and expertise in emissions tracking.
“Kayrros is very enthusiastic to partner with Japan’s National Institute of Information and Communications Technology to promote innovative research in the global gas emissions field, and to build technologies that will have a positive impact on the planet, now and in the future,” said Kayrros President Antoine Rostand.
The NICT is Japan’s leading institute of research & development focusing on information and communications technology. Over the past 12 years, the NICT has established a leading expertise in developing unique technologies for algorithm using satellite remote sensing data to estimate and track the movement of gases through the atmosphere, a key element of gas emissions tracking. Kayrros proprietary technologies and algorithms will push for new developments by using these remote sensing techniques.
“The National Institute of Information and Communications Technology is very pleased to collaborate with Kayrros to bring an advanced understanding into global gas emissions through new, precise AI data analysis and measurements,” said NICT president Hideyuki Tokuda. Kayrros and the NICT aim to build new ways of monitoring gas emissions around the world.
