Research Overview
In today’s society, vast amounts of data are generated, exchanged, and processed in real time by advanced ICT applications such as AI. We aim to contribute to the realization of an "AI/data-driven society" in which data can be used safely and with trust by everyone.
To sustainably support such a society, a highly reliable, flexible, and intelligent network infrastructure is essential. Our laboratory conducts research and development on novel network architectures that tightly integrate networking, AI, and computing.
Research Theme
Advanced ICT Infrastructure Management and Control Technologies
We conduct research and development on technologies for automated network configuration and control (orchestration) using AI. Our work ensures high reliability across heterogeneous environments where optical, mobile, and satellite communication networks coexist at different scales, supporting a wide range of use cases.
Highly Reliable In-Network Computing Technologies
We conduct research and development on technologies that improve communication efficiency by in-network computing, such as distributed AI inference, while enabling rapid failure recovery and flexible extension of network functions.
