Steering Committee Meeting, November 2019
On the evening of the November 21, the Steering Committee had a meeting. This time, following a review of the previous day’s forum, the Steering Committee discussed the management of ASEAN IVO, project management and relations with other bodies.
This meeting was chaired by new NICT Vice-President, Dr. Mizuhiko Hosokawa.
It was explained to the Committee that, regarding the latest call for projects (5 selections are expected), due to NICT beginning a new mid-to-long term budget, there is a possibility of the budget for the second year of the selected projects being affected. Additionally, a new project member category of assistant project member was suggested by the secretariat and accepted by the Committee.
The secretariat also reported the current situation regarding discussions with outside body ASEAN COSTI (ASEAN Committee on Science, Technology and Innovation) about project cooperation.
Lastly, the next Steering Committee meeting was to be hosted in March next year by the Institute for Infocomm Research, Singapore, where next fiscal year’s projects will be selected.
