Interruption in the supply of Japan Standard Time or supply of erroneous signals during emergencies
At NICT, we are working to ensure that Japan Standard Time is supplied continuously and correctly.
Interruptions due to maintenance and inspections will be announced in advance. However, natural disasters or equipment malfunction may result in sudden interruptions to the dissemination of Japan Standard Time by some or all methods of delivery. Equipment damage may lead to the temporary supply of erroneous signals. In the event of a large-scale disaster, the Japan Standard Time supply services may be interrupted for several days as we work to restore operation or switch operation to the Kobe Substation.
NICT is not responsible for any damages incurred by users due to suspension of the supply of Japan Standard Time or from a temporary supply of erroneous signals.
For time management of systems related to the preservation of human life or valuable property, it is necessary to use multiple methods to acquire time, provide sufficient hold-over capability to maintain the correct time during a service outage, and to implement methods to prevent malfunction.
